Melba M. Baker, 97, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 22, 1926, a daughter of the late Daniel and Martha (Seeger) Schneider. Melba had a passion for watching birds, traveling, spending time at the lake and beach, but most of all spending time with her family. She is survived by her sons, Stanley (Muriel), Kenton (Karen), James (Tundi), and Gary (Cheri) Baker; grandchildren, Krisanne (Josh) Clinkenbeard, Elissa (Jeffrey) Baker, Nathaniel (Samantha) Baker, Rachael (Zach) Warren, Jenalyn Baker, Corey (Macy) Baker, and Dorina Feher; and 12 great-grandchildren. Melba was also preceded in passing by her husband, Donald Baker; five brothers; and two sisters, and grandson Michael Baker. A funeral service will be held at 1:45 pm on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819 with visitation from 11:00 am to 1:45pm. Burial to follow the service at Lindenwood Cemetery. Contributions in Melba's memory may be made to Three Rivers Visiting Dogs.
