Maurice David O'Daniel

Maurice D O’Daniel, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on April 9, 2021. Born on January 8, 1932, in Evansville, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Hancock) O’Daniel. He proudly served his country in the Army, and was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church of Arcola, Fort Wayne. He retired after more than 59 years as owner of O’Daniel Automotive Inc, Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Fort Wayne Country Club, and was a member and held leadership roles in several organizations including, Junior Achievement, Indiana New Car Dealers Association, Tower Bank Foundation, St Joe Hospital Foundation, Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Allen County, the Salvation Army, University of St Francis, Matthew 25, and was inducted into the Fort Wayne Business Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Germaine “Gerry” (Laskowski) O’Daniel; sons, Randy (Mary Ann) O’Daniel, Jeff (Sheila) O’Daniel, and Greg (Laura) O’Daniel, all of Fort Wayne, and Andrew (Susan) O’Daniel, of Littleton, Colorado; daughters, Susan (Todd) Henderson, of Littleton, Colorado, and Debra (Jerry) Lamb, of Evansville, IN; as well as 18 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Carl O'Daniel, Jeanette Beavin, Evelyn Bridges, Joe O'Daniel, Bernard O'Daniel, John O'Daniel, Fred O'Daniel, Katherine Tayler and Tom O’Daniel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Saturday, April 17, 2021, at St Patrick Catholic Church of Arcola, 12305 Arcola Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46818, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9pm, Friday, April 16, 2021, at DO McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with a Rosary service at 4:30pm.
