Lorna Ilene Sherman

Lorna Ilene Sherman, age 89, of Ft Wayne Indiana, went to Heaven Thursday Jan 19, 2023 at Mason’s Health & Rehab in Warsaw Indiana. Lorna was born on June 27, 1933 to Howard & Ethel (Edwards) Haddix in Grand Ledge MI, was married to her high-school sweetheart, Roger Sherman for 64 years. Lorna was a Registered Nurse by profession, yet her passion was being a Mother & Pastors Wife, working alongside Roger during their 34 years in ministry. Mom was the best Mother one could have – she loved the Lord and it showed through her beautiful blue eyes and her loving attitude towards everyone! She lived out her faith in Jesus. Mom & Dad taught us 7 kids how much God loved us while we were very young. How fortunate we were to have them for parents! We thank the good Lord every day for Mom & Dad and that they are together again, at His feet, praising Him with the angels and all the Saints! What a wonderful, wonderful vision! Lorna is survived by all her 7 children, Tom (Ruby) Sherman of Naples ID, Nancy (Terry) Stutzman of Warsaw IN, Steve (Ronda) Sherman of Albany OR, Caroline (Jeff) Shatto of Ft Wayne IN, David (Amanda) Sherman of Bluffton IN, Suzanne Sherman of Ft Wayne IN, Julia (Greg) Araya of Los Angeles CA; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; 4 siblings in MI: Richard Haddix, Janet Thomas, Patsy (Don) Lenz, and Judy (Keith) Warner. Lorna was preceded in death by her parents Howard & Ethel Haddix, sisters Gerri Eno, Adilene (Don) Eckman, Virgie Hiller, Sandy (Ross) McCloud, and grandson William Sherman. There will be a memorial for family & friends to celebrate Lorna at 1pm on March 11, 2023 at the First Congregational Church, 767 4th Avenue, Lake Odessa Michigan.
