Sending my condolences to the Gibson family and dearest friends of Leona Gibson. I've had the incredible privilege of meeting Ms. Gibson a little over 5 years ago while assisting her with medical claim issues. She moved me  constantly via phone conversations about how active she was in her community and home all while walking and tending too her precious yard. I'll never forgot how kind and comforting she'd been with me as my parents had transitioned at that time. I know you're resting in peace Ms. Gibson and reunited with your loved ones.

I was so sad to hear of Leona’s passing. I lived across the street from her for a year in 2014, and she was a very kind friend to me. I was working odd shifts, and all my friends had moved away, and I was very lonely. One day I asked Leona what she did to pass the time, and she said solitaire. Then I began to go over and play with her in the evenings. She taught me a lot about being consistent in life, and she offered a fresh perspective, as only someone 95 could. I started dating around that time, and I wanted to get her perspective on the guy. We took her out to dinner, and afterwards she told me, “I don’t think you could do any better.” I married Caleb soon after and now we have 4 little kiddos. Leona was a baby whisperer. One of my babies had colic. I was embarrassed to bring him over to meet Leona because I was afraid he would just fuss, but Leona worked on the fussy baby for 20 minutes to finally get him to sleep. Ever since her stroke, I’ve been trying to go out to Kingston to see her. I wish I had been able to go more regularly , but with small children we always had something infectious going on. She still had the baby touch, even if her words weren’t quite there. She didn’t know me, but she loved the baby. 
I’m sorry for your loss. I definitely will miss her. I pray for comfort for you as you grieve her.

A kinder, thoughtful, and more generous neighbor we could not have asked for. She was a true friend, always willing to lend a helping hand, sharing fresh and canned vegetables from her meticulous garden, and performing little favors for our family. She was well known for her cherry chewables cookies and buckeyes with whom she also gave to the mailman and trash collectors. Our children remember her kindness and especially the special treats she and Lewis handed out at Halloween. She was a remarkable lady and will be remembered fondly and remain in our hearts always.

So sorry to hear of Leona's passing. She was a wonderful neighbor for many years. 
One day Leona asked me if I wanted to go on a walk with her. She said that she was tired of walking in the garage. I said sure, that would be fun.  Little did I know that she would kick my behind...lol. She was in her 80's at the time. I was in my early 50's. My problem was that I underestimated her capabilities. I wanted to be careful with this "little old lady" After the third time of her asking me if the walk was too much for me I realized I better step up my game. She knew exactly how far we needed to walk for her to get her steps in.  It was wonderful to be with her. Most of all, her kindness and love for her family radiated from her.
