Lavon Richard Goebel, age 84, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. He was born February 17, 1940 in DeKalb County, Indiana to the late Isador and Katherine (née Frager) Goebel and matriculated from Edgerton High School. He would spend thirty-one years with the Hagerman Group as Vice-President of Masonry, and a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 4.
Lavon is survived by his children, Staci (Andy) Gilbert of Auburn, Indiana and Chad (Andrea) Goebel of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Gabe, Lexi, Justin, Grace, Lauren and Christopher; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Ted Goebel and Glen (Helen Ann) Goebel, both of Edgerton and Albert (Debbie) Goebel of Fort Wayne; sister, Mary Nelson of Edgerton; brother-in-law, Ron Baumgardner of Greenville, Ohio; sister-in-law, Marilyn Goebel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Sharon S. (née Robinett) Goebel; brother, Wendell Goebel; and sister, Margaret Baumgardner.
Funeral Service is noon, Monday, October 14, 2024 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne with calling two hours prior. Private Interment at Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, Ohio.
