Konstantina D. Tountzios

Konstantina D. Tountzios, 92, passed on from this earth on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Konstantina was born and raised in Basiliada, Kastoria, Greece and immigrated to Fort Wayne, Ind. in 1969. Konsantina was a self-taught seamstress and worked at Despos and Toskos tailoring, retiring in 2010. Konstantina was a selfless wife and mother; her main joy in life was her family and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren and spending time in the garden. She was sincere, honest, and kindhearted with a gentle spirit who spread an all-encompasing love to her family and friends. "We thank our mom for teaching us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and giving us years of love, strength, morals, and a beautiful soul." Konstantina was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. "We love you mom!" Konstantina is survived by her daughter, Irene (Neofitos) Rigas of Fort Wayne; son, Athanasios "Tom" Tountzios of Fort Wayne; former daughter-in-law, Chriss Darrah of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Chris Rigas, Thomas Rigas, William (Larissa) Rigas, Stefani Tountzios, and Ryan Tountzios; and brother, Periklis Kostantas of Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Vasilios; parents, Dimitrios and Vasiliki Kostantas; grandson, Thomas Tountzios; one brother, and two sisters. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 110 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne. Calling is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, with a Trisagion service at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
