Kenneth William Wilkins Jr.

Kenneth William Wilkins Jr. 80, passed away November 22, 2024 at his home in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born June 15, 1944, in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of Kenneth William Wilkins Sr. and Lois (Rusty) (Vernon) Wilkins.

He graduated from Central High School High School. Ken was a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving from 1963-1966. He served the Fort Wayne Community as a Police Officer for 32 years and retired in 2001.

He was a man who found joy in the simple things—watching Fox News, and sneaking his dogs treats they weren’t supposed to have (and loving every minute of it). He lit up whenever the babies were playing nearby, their laughter always bringing a smile to his face. Family time was everything to him, especially heading to bingo with his wife and kids, where there was always plenty of laughter and good memories. His warmth, humor, and love for life will be missed more than words can say.

Ken is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cindy Wilkins; children, Kenneth (Toni) Wilkins III of TN; Keith (Phyllis) Wilkins, Kenneth (Jill) McMahan, both of Fort Wayne, IN; Sandy Wilkins of Columbia City, IN; Shelia Mullins of Fort Wayne, IN; Carrie (Billy) France of Bluffton, IN; Jeanie McMahan of Fort Wayne, IN; Julie (Bobbie) Green of Bluffton, IN; 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and his furry pet kids, Angie and Elsa.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Wilkins Sr., his mother, Lois (Rusty) (Vernon) Wilkins, father-in-law, Harry Jacobs, mother-in-law, Betty Jacobs, his sister & brother-in-law, Debbie & Steve Anderson, brother-in-law, Jerry Kinsey, and nephew Jason Anderson.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Saturday November 30, 2024, at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 5-8 pm Friday November 29, 2024, at the funeral home. Committal and Burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Diabetes Foundation.
