Kenneth Leroy Thompson

Kenny spent his childhood in the East End of Fort Wayne with his parents, 3 brothers and sister. As a child, he was very close to his Aunts, Uncles, and many cousins. Between the 1970s and early 1990s, he lived with his mother in Fort Wayne’s uptown area, where he was well known by the community. Enjoying his days running errands for his mother, walking and chatting with the local business workers and residents, Kenny was able to brighten people’s days by his cheerful presence.

With an overwhelming love for his family, Kenny cherished every moment he could speak with them. Never failing to make everyone smile and laugh, even when he had ornery ways of doing so. Kenny’s love for music was ever present with his radios. He could often be found enjoying a good meal with dessert and cup of coffee as he listened to his favorite tunes.

After his Mother’s passing, he moved to a home with ARC Easter Seals. He loved the structure and activities ARC provided. His roommates and caregivers had a special place in Kenny’s heart as he loved them dearly. Kenny looked forward to chatting with his sister-in-law, Judy, daily to tell her all about anything he was up to, and to reminisce about the good old days, food, and family.

Kenny had a strong faith in God and attended different churches throughout his life. His remaining family and friends are blessed with many heartfelt memories of Kenny’s long life, and at peace knowing he is now with his parents, brothers, sister and many other loved ones.

A visitation for Kenneth will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM.
