James Louis Best

James Louis Best, age 92, of Fort Wayne, Ind. passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022. He was born December 12, 1929 in Fort Wayne, Ind. to the late Richard and Pauline (Sullivan) Best. Following graduation, James enlisted in the United States Air Force, and married Eloise Dean in 1952 while stationed in Alabama. He began his career with Rea Magnet Wire in 1955, retiring after 38 years in production control. James is survived by his daughter, Diane Best of Fort Wayne, Ind.; step-daughter Marianne (Steve) Ervin of Leo, Ind; and sister, Norma (Randy) Shaw of Fort Wayne, Ind. He was predeceased by his wife, Eloise; step-son, Robert Snow; and brother, Richard (Evelyn) Best. Funeral service is 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, 5365 Lake Avenue in Fort Wayne, Ind. with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Andrew Walsh to officiate.
