Eleanor M. Parker

Eleanor Parker , 95, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Eleanor was born in Wabash, IN. She worked as a Realtor with Banks- Mallough in the Fort Wayne area. She was a member of Anthony Wayne First Church of God. Eleanor was known for her positive attitude, contagious smile, and sense of humor. She belonged to the same bowling league for 50 years. She also was an avid reader, bird watcher, card player, and fan of Big Ten basketball. She loved cooking and baking, especially for her two grandsons who were her pride and joy. Surviving are her daughter, Jill (Dave) Smith of Fort Wayne; grandsons, Michael Smith and Johnathan Smith; and brother, Devon (Bonnie) Bates of Huntington. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ella Bates, step-mother Ruth Bates; her husband, best friend, and love of her life for 54 years James Parker; sisters, Deloris Adams, Frieda Gamble, Ilene Mauger, Kate Middleton, and brother, James Bates. Service is 10:00 am, August 13, 2016 at Anthony Wayne First Church of God, 6012 South Bend Drive with Pastor Jerry Blanchard officiating with calling one hour prior. Calling also at - D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road Friday, August 12, 2016, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
