EDWARD M. "MIKE" ST. JOHN III, of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. He contracted an aggressive head and neck cancer that took him quickly from this life. He was born on Sept. 5, 1946. He enjoyed fishing since he was a boy. He fished in the St. Joseph River across from his home by North Side High School. Throughout his lifetime, he continued to fish on open water and frozen lakes. He taught his kids, Chris (Carrie) St. John and Gena (Louie) De Armond, to fish and took them on fishing trips to Canada every summer. He had great times with his buddies fishing in Minnesota, and ice fishing in Indiana. He loved diving with a mask to see what he could see, in Pretty Lake and Snow Lake in Indiana, and in La Cloche Lake in Canada. He loved his family and looked after his parents Edward M. "Mike" St. John Jr. and Elizabeth "Betty" (Hetrick) St. John; and sisters, Shari (Sam) Sammingtinger and Suzanne (Bradd) Fisher. He was a man who took care of business, whatever that business might be. He worked at General Electric Company in the factory for 34 years. And was an Army veteran serving during the Viet Nam War on the Honor Guard Detail.He was a loving husband to Sally (Cabler) Dominguez-St. John for 26 years; and stepfather to Julie (Brent Dickinson) Dominguez, Adrienne (Peter) Clendenen and and Katy Hopkins. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Allexa, Duke, Hannah, Jimmi, Grant, Lily, Sophia, Zoe, Olivia, and Josie; nieces, Lindsey and Christine; and nephew, Brandon. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at St. Jude Catholic Church, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Memorials to Bourke Patton - National Resource Foundation, 402 W.
