E. Earl Ward

E. Earl Ward, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Born on February 28, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan, he proudly served his country in the Navy and WWII. Earl received his Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green University and his Masters degree from the University of Iowa in Mathematics. He worked for several large life and health insurance companies as an executive innovator and as a business insurance entrepreneur later formering in own marketing and administrative company, Marketing Diversified Services. Earl married his wife Dorothy in 1948 and they celebrated 70 years together. They raised two children, Greg and David, and have 4 grandchildren, Kristen(Giles), Erik, Rachel, and Jared with one great-grandchild, Owen(Giles).

Earl was a long time member of Saint Joe United Methodist Church where he also taught Sunday school. He enjoyed spending winters in southwest Florida playing golf and enjoying visits from his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed being with his friends at StoryPoint.

He is survived by his sons, David Ward, and Gregory (Karen) Ward; grandchildren, Kristen(Giles), Erik, Rachel, and Jared; great grandson Owen. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 70 years, Dorothy Ward.

Funeral service will be 11:00am, Friday, March 31, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio. Memorial donations may be given to The Community Harvest Food Bank in Fort Wayne.
