Dewey Wayne Hasty, 92, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Parkview Home Health & Hospice. Born in Huntington County, he served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked at NIPSCO for 36 years. He enjoyed woodworking throughout his life, especially during his retirement years. Dewey is survived by daughters, Carolyn Rose (Denny) Conner of Battle Ground and Karen Annette (Timothy) Smith of Fort Wayne; son, Paris Lee (Beth) Hasty of Auburn; granddaughters, Angela White, Christine (Scott) Butler, Jamie (James) Black; step-grandchildren Ben (Brandi) Huth and Sara Huth; five great-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Joan (Grabner) Hasty in 2005; parents, Fred and Ella (Smuts) Hasty; brothers, Paul, Galen, Lloyd, and Roy Hasty; sisters, Thelma Shively, Pauline Biddle, Ruth McVoy; and a granddaughter deceased at birth.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Monday, May 22, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from 11:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville. Memorial donations may be given to Parkview Home Health and Hospice.
