Daniel E. Godsell, 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away on August 6, 2022, surrounded by family. He was born on August 25, 1956 in Kendallville, Indiana to the late Donald and Patricia (Shroeder) Godsell, but spent most of his life in Fort Wayne. Dan was known as “Bones” to most of his family and friends. He married Carolyn “Sue” (Munson) Godsell on June 4, 1982, becoming a step-father to her six children. Dan worked at multiple jobs throughout his life involving foundry work, tree trimming, and factory positions. He was known for his sense of humor, love of Harley Davidson motorcycles, pride in his Dodge truck, thirst for a cold beer, and a drag on a good cigarette. He had a soft spot for dogs, cats, and the menagerie of wildlife gathered in the back yard. Dan is survived by his children, Kim (Pat) Cook, Rhonda (Jim) Eitsert, Don Winchester, Tim (Leta) Winchester, Chris Winchester, and Rick (Cheryl) Winchester; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of brother and sister in-laws; and sister-in-law, Jill Munson, who cared or him in his final days. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Carolyn; his parents; and one sister. A funeral service for Dan will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804 with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial beside his wife at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, will follow the funeral service.
