The youngest of nine boys, Dah Bue lost his parents before he was 10 years old due to sickness. The early loss of their parents brought many struggles to Dah Bue and his siblings. They were separated for a couple of years before being reunited in Thailand - where they lived as refugees.
Born in a village by the river, Dah Bue had a talent for fishing. He brought his passion for the sport to America - buying many fishing poles, and spending hours by the water. His time in Burma and Thailand taught him how to forage from the native lands. He would often find wild vegetables and fruits from the local areas of Fort Wayne. His children remember their father’s love for music. Every morning they would be woken up by the sound of speakers blasting from the living room. Their dad was a gifted singer and his musicality was passed on through his son,Nay. Like many Karen men, Dah Bue loved to watch soccer games - alone or with friends. He was incredibly athletic and loved to play hacky-sack for fun.
Dah Bue was a man who enjoyed the fun in life. He was a diligent worker who endured the hard labor of a factory job, but still took on every new day with a smile.
His family mourns the loss of a father and a brother, and the community mourns a dear friend. Private services were held Apr. 19th, 2025.
