Carolyn graduated from Huntington High School in 1952. She proudly worked for the city of Fort Wayne for 37 years. She started at City Utilities in 1978, and then transferred to the City Clerks office in 1980 where she remained until her retirement in 2015. She was an avid member of the Democratic Party, where she formed many lifelong friendships. She loved playing cards with her family and friends. Her deepest passion and lifelong dedication was to her children and grandchildren. She lived her life lovingly for her family first.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Mark (Jan) Jones; son, Gary Jones; daughter, Kay Jones; brother, James “Jim” Crago; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. She is also preceded in death by her cherished husband, Lynn; son, David; and daughter-in-law, Debbie.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10:30 AM with calling one hour prior at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Calling will also be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
