Barbara Jane Scrogham, 71, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Visiting Nurse in Fort Wayne. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late W. Robert and Leah Peters Fleming. Barbara graduated from North Side High School in 1964. She was a sales associate in the fabric department at Wal-mart for 29 years. She was a longtime avid member of the Fort Wayne Running Club. Barbara completed 86 marathons, including the Boston Marathon twice. She loved to win and compete. Barbie was a true inspiration to others. She loved to have fun and was a faithful friend devoted to making others feel special. Surviving are her daughter, Kim (David) Martin of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters, Sally Epley of San Diego, CA; Patricia Fisher of Ridgway, CO; grandchildren, Kathleen Martin of Fort Wayne, IN; Mary Martin, Nicholas Martin of Bloomington, IN; Caroline Martin of Fort Wayne, IN; and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Messmann of Fort Wayne, IN. Service is 10:30 am, Monday July 23, 2018, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with visitation one hour prior. Also, visitation on Sunday, July 22, 2018, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home. You are highly encouraged to wear running attire. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN.
