Barbara A. Beaty, age 55, died Friday November 21, 2014, after battling cancer. Barbara was raised in Fort Wayne and attended Snider High School, class of 1977. After years of working at L.S. Ayres, she fulfilled her dream of earning her wings as a flight attendant. In later years, she was a constant and loving caregiver to her mother. Barbara is survived by stepbrothers Andrew (Chun) Gecowets of Fort Wayne, Mark (Tina) Gecowets of Columbia TN, and David Gecowets of Encinitas CA, as well as several nieces and nephews, one aunt and six cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Col. Newell Beaty, USAF, her mother Marjorie Beaty Gecowets and stepfather Max E. Gecowets. She now has the wings of eternity. She loved her pets, gems and jewellery, antiques and the Gulf of Mexico.
