Alvin B. Berry, 99, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Lutheran Life Villages in Fort Wayne. He was born in Fort Wayne to the late Rolland and Edith Berry. He married Rhea Elouise (Housel) Berry on June 29, 1946 and she preceded him in death in 1993. He served honorably in the United States Army, stationed in Europe, as a military policeman during World War II. Alvin worked as an electrician for East Allen County Schools for 20 years, retiring in 1981. He is survived by his children, Carl W. (Sue Ellen) Berry and Laura E. (Eric) Eme; eight grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son, Ben A. Berry; great-grandson, Ethan Hoffman; and sisters, Joy E. Lee and Charlotte Durbin. Funeral service 1:00 pm Friday, March 29, 2019 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home with calling one hour prior to the service. Calling Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
