Alan graduated life on December 6, 2022 in the care of hospice from diabetes complications. He was born in South Bend, Indiana and adopted by the late Lawrence and Beth Nichter on August 22, 1958. Alan was raised in Fort Wayne and attended Queen of Angels Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School. He was initially hired by Alex Azar then transitioned to the Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend and retired after 30 years of dedicated service.
Alan lived a heart-filled life to the fullest doing the things he loved the most: playing ice hockey, attending Komets hockey games, tracking weather conditions, camping/outings with family and friends, dating numerous girlfriends, indulging on tasty foods and spending tons of time with family. Honest, dependable, loving and communicated with anyone he ran into. He had no enemies and held no grudges and trusted God's plan in life and recently graduated to a peaceful life with our heavenly Father. He leaves his brother, Gary (Rita) Nichter; nephew, Robert Nichter (U.S. Navy) and niece Nicole Pyburn of Indianapolis, Ind. and 4 grandchildren; Lilliana, Rosie, Griffen and Violet.
Funeral Service is 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 20 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Dr., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 1500 W State Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46808.
