Trevor Soter John Hodge, MD, 65, of Fort Smith, passed from this life June 22, 2018. He was born in Basse Terre, Trinidad to Augustina and the late Patrick Hodge. He attended school at Basse Terre D.C. School, Cowen Secondary School and San Fernando College, all in Trinidad. After coming to the United States in 1969, he attended and graduated with honors from Thomas Jefferson High School. After high school, he attended Queens College. He furthered his education at St. John’s University and Hahnemann Medical School. Following medical school, he went to Talihina Choctaw Nation, practicing Internal Medicine and later to Fort Smith, where he practiced Internal Medicine throughout his career both in clinic and hospital settings.
Dr. Hodge is survived by his wife, Penny Hodge; his children, Trevor Jr., Christopher and Mary of Fort Smith, Thomas of Fayetteville, Kevin of Fort Smith, Anne Hoffman of Pennsylvania; and their mother, Margaret Hodge of Fort Smith, Sydney Gallegos of San Diego, California, Kelley Gallegos of Fort Smith; his siblings, Margaret, William, Mary, Elizabeth and Patrick; as well as three grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and Londyn. He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Ryan Gallegos; and a brother, Stafford.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday June 29, 2018 at First Christian Church in Fort Smith with burial to follow at New Cemetery in Mulberry. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm Wednesday, June 27, 2018 and from 11:00am to 1:00pm Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Immmediately following the burial the family will gather with friends and colleagues for fellowship at the Sheffield Center at Sparks Hospital.
Pallbearers will be the Pafford Medical and Air Crew: Will Pope, Josh Forrest, Eric Street, Ben McFarland, Shane Spaulding and Nick Goff. Those serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jason Seiter, Dr. Kenneth Seiter, Dr. Kenneth Seiter, Sr., Dr. Tony Jumelle, Dr. Nabil Akkad, Dr. Arturo Meade, Dr. John Terrell, Dr. Zaki Samman, Dr. Salahuddin Kaddoura, Dr. Soloangel Pollock, Russell Nichols, Ray Triplett, Darryl Hall, Ray Minkle and Michael Collins.
