Lenora Branch

Lenora was born in Fort Smith on August 20, 1943, to proud parents Lucille and Leonard Darnell. She married Alfred Branch in 1963. Lenora was very active in her church, and she loved playing hymns on the piano, often playing in church. Her hobbies included sewing and quilting. She loved watching her grandchildren grow.

She is survived by her husband, two children and their spouses, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Alfred, her husband of 61 years, still lives in Fort Smith and is active with First Baptist Church. Her daughter, LeAnn Jones, lives with her husband Jeff in Bonanza, and their children, Zachary Jones and Holly Brooke Varner, along with her husband Jacob, live in Fort Smith. Her son, John Branch, lives with his husband just outside of Houston, TX. Her one great-grandson, Theo Jones, lives with his mother in Illinois. She also enjoyed her “bonus daughter”, Emma McMillan, her husband Scott and their several bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon (December 8th) from 2 – 4 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith. Burial will occur in the National Cemetery in Fort Smith Monday morning (December 9th) at 9 AM, with a memorial service held at 10 AM at First Baptist Church, Fort Smith.
