Kathy Cole, 65, of Fort Smith, AR passed away on June 6, 2021. She was born January 1, 1956 in Little Rock, AR to Charles and Jo Ann Brents. She graduated from Southside High School, where she met her husband Johnny. Then she went on to attend classes at John Brown University to study Early Childhood Music Education.
Kathy dedicated her life to her family and giving to others. While her children were young she was a stay at home mom who loved to bake, sew, sing, play the piano and celebrate Christmas. She was a talented baker who could bake and decorate any type of cake from a simple one layer birthday cake to 7-tier wedding cakes complete with fountains and staircases. Every Christmas she would bake ‘goodie trays’ with dozens of different cookies for Johnny’s work parties. She enjoyed sewing doll clothes and special occasion dresses, including wedding dresses. She spent many years as a Mothers Day Out director, running PTA carnivals at Bonneville Elementary School and leading her daughter’s Girl Scout troops. She worked for the local Girl Scouts of the USA council for over 30 years as a Product Sales Specialist and then a Data Integrity Specialist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Diana Leigh; one sister-in-law, Sharon Brents.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband Johnny Cole, one son, John Cole (Andrea) of Fayetteville; two daughters, Crystal Cole of Fort Smith, Laura Jones (Freddie) of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, Christopher Savage, Haden Savage, Dylan Perry, Christian Jones, Makayla Jones and Dawn Cole; one great grandson, Leon Cole; two brothers, Alan Brents of Fayetteville, Darrell Brents (Sherry) of Van Buren; numerous extended family and friends.
