Reverend Joseph Floyd Potts Jr.

Reverend Joseph Floyd Potts, Jr., 89, of Fort Smith, died November 15, 2011 in Fort Smith. He was born August 28, 1922 in Western Grove, AR to Joseph Floyd and Elizabeth Arminta Moore Potts. He was a retired Livestock Dealer and Lay Evangelist. He served as pastor and interim for various churches in the Fort Smith area and was a member the First Baptist Church of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wilma Potts of the Home; one daughter, Lynette and husband Harry Layden of Tulsa; two sons, Joseph Floyd Potts, III and his wife Tina of North Little Rock, and David and his wife Brenda Potts of Fort Smith; one sister, Virginia Zuppan of Houston, TX; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be Friday, November 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with private burial in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jack Thompson, Andrew Layden, Timothy Potts, Larry Smith, Jim and John Potts.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Carl Smith Sunday School Class.

The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5-7 PM
