Jerry Ray Turner, 89, of Fort Smith, AR, passed away on July 27, 2024. Born on July 21, 1935, in McAlester, OK, he was the son of Jesse Ray and Lula (Armstrong) Turner. Jerry graduated from McAlester High School and earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He spent 40 years running Lynn Pharmacy and Central Drug in Checotah, OK, alongside his brother, Charles Turner.
Jerry had a passion for hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching sports. Above all, he cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cherry; his sons, Ray Turner and Jerald Marshall; and his brother, Charles Turner.
He is survived by his son, Doug Turner of McAlester, OK; his daughters, Kari (Bill) Coleman of Checotah, OK; Lacy Borengasser of McAlester, OK; and Cindi (Al) Geisbauer of Fort Smith, AR; his daughter-in-law, Pat Marshall of West Monroe, LA; and his grandchildren: Keith (Kim) Huntsman; Jade (David) Keahbone; Elyse (Charles) Cullen; Amie (Isaac) Boatwright; Emily (Skyler) Sartin; Grant (Sarah) Geisbauer; Eric Borengasser; and Kaley (Brady) Blizzard. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Megan (Kirkland) Middlebrooks; Morgan Huntsman; Blake McIntosh; Cody Sartin; Madison Martin; Elliot Cullen; Jonah Cullen; and Taylor Keahbone, as well as great-great-grandchildren Keller Middlebrooks; Stevie Huntsman; and Davis Middlebrooks. He is also remembered by several nieces and nephews.
A service celebrating Jerry's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith, AR.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, prior to the service.
