James A Nichols, age 75, of Barling, Arkansas passed from this life on Sunday, June 9, 2024. He was born March 2, 1949 in Danville, IL to Cecil Nichols and Barbara (Robinson) Nichols. He was retired from the San Bernardino, CA Sherriff's Department. Jim was an Army Veteran, and he was an amateur radio operator, and enjoyed fishing and playing Bingo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Patricia Owens.
He is survived by his daughter, Katherine Stovall of Alabama; sisters, Barbara Burdick of Rudy, Marilee Treat and Shirley Clouse, both of Spiro, OK, and Marcia Baker of Barling, AR; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 5 - 7 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 AM Friday at Fort Smith National Cemetery.
