Glenn B Nelson

Glenn Butler Nelson, 94, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born in Kibler, Arkansas to his parents Andrew Butler Nelson and Minta Shibley Nelson. He is preceded in death by his wife Helen Clyma Nelson, daughter Gail Thorson Morris, siblings Thell Nelson, Velma Kimbriel, Maynard Nelson, Geneva Courtney, Regeta Hassler, and Imogene Etter.

Glenn is survived by his wife Bridget Weisenfels Nelson of Fort Smith; his daughters of Fort Smith, Glenda Kraus and husband Robert and Minta Jane Bowers and husband David; his brother Dell Nelson of Fort Smith and wife Carolyn; grandson Jon Thorson and wife Kim, their children Enid, Mara, and Luke of New York, New York; grandson Martin Thorson and wife Tanya, their sons Andrew and Max of Baltimore, Maryland; grandson Grant Bowers and wife Jillia, their daughter Addeline of Fort Smith; and grandson Nathaniel Thorson of Reno, Nevada; step-daughter Pam Pyland and husband Bruce of Fort Smith; step grandchildren Laura Pyland Warren and husband Chad of Mustang, Oklahoma; Derek Pyland of Charlottesville, Virgina; Caitlin and Cory McClaren of Centerton, Arkansas; Dylan Weisenfels of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and Devin Weisenfels of Fort Smith.

Glenn was the sales manager for Griffin Grocery Company. He taught Sunday School at Grand Avenue Baptist Church for over 60 years. Glenn loved gardening and sharing the produce he planted.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 3 at 11:00, Edwards Funeral Home, Fort Smith. Visitation will be 5-7 on Thursday, November 2 at Edwards Funeral Home.
