Glenda Head Beene

Glenda Head Beene, 68 of Barling passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 in Fort Smith. She was born June 6, 1945 in Chismville, Arkansas to the late John and Jewel Fowler. She was a member of Barling First Baptist Church. She was retired from Pocola Nursing Home and a Homemaker. She was well loved by her family, a mother to everybody, and welcomed everyone with her unconditional love. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Jerry Head, her second husband Ron Beene, her daughter Durina Lester and her brother Charles Fowler.

Funeral services will 10:00 AM Friday January 10, 2014 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at Infant Cemetery near Booneville. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.

Mrs. Beene is survived by her daughter Shannon Van Herpen and her husband Scott of Ft. Smith, her son-in-law Brian Hanifon, three sisters; Alvetta Wipf and her husband Delbert of Barling, Jewel Dean “Judy” Avery and her husband John of Little Rock and Johna Gaddis and her husband Steve of Ft. Smith, her sister-in-law Margie Fowler of Barling; three grandchildren; Casey Clark and her husband Dylan, Jeri Marie Barker, and Jacob Hanifon; and one great grandchild Aaliya Barker.

Pallbearers will be Eric Cusick, Arlen Pryor, Dylan Clark, Jacob Hanifon, Charles Fowler, Johnny Fowler, and Michael Wipf. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Hanifon, Scott Van Herpen, and Don Smith, Jr.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
