Gail Marie Russell (Boatright), 72, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2023 in her home in Corinth, Texas after suffering from an aneurysm. She was born on February 13, 1950, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the daughter of Raymond and Maxine (Bowlin) Boatright.
Gail graduated from Roland High School, Class of 1968, in Roland, Oklahoma. She married Jerry Lee Russell on January 1, 1972, in Roland, Oklahoma, and they raised two sons, Edward Raymond and Charles Dudley. Gail and Jerry were married for 51 years. She attended Arkansas Secretarial Academy and worked many jobs over the years to help Jerry support their family. Gail was a member of the Church of Christ in Roland, Oklahoma and Denton, Texas. She was a musician who loved to sing, play guitar, and play piano. What Gail enjoyed most was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was very active in her church and community for as long as her health allowed. Gail was loving, generous, and hard working. She was beloved by all who knew her.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents and by three grandchildren, Taylor, Caden, and Grant Russell. Surviving in addition to her husband, Jerry Russell; son, Edward Russell and his wife Laura of Denton, Texas, and their two children, Olivia and William; son, Charles Russell and his ex-wife Kayla of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and their two children, Kelsey and Luke; two brothers, Ron Boatright of Denver, Colorado, and James Boatright of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be Saturday, January 14, 2:00 PM at Roland Church of Christ, 103 N. Roland Rd, Roland, Oklahoma, 74954. Interment will be at Roland Cemetery following the funeral. Visitation will be Friday, January 13, 5:00-7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N. 12th St, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901. Arrangements are being made by Edwards Funeral Home.
