Elaine Bradford Newman

Elaine "Bradford" Newman of Fort Smith, AR, departed her earthly life on Thursday April 27, 2023 in Tulsa, OK. Elaine was born on March 23, 1938 in Marianna, Florida to Preston and Lessie Odom, of Enterprise, Alabama, who preceded her in death; along with sister Gail Odom, two brothers Cecil and Buddy Odom of Plant City, Florida, one granddaughter Shanna Grinstead, of Tulsa, Ok, and one son David Bradford of Ft. Smith.

Family members remaining, one sister Helen McClellan of Bremen, Ga, two daughters Rhonda Williams of Tulsa, Dawna Huff (Richard) of Jefferson City, Mo, one son Donald Bradford (Cheryl) of Pocola, Ok, three grandsons, Daniel (Bonnie) Whittington, Michael Tedford (Jessica), and Ronald Bradford, two granddaughters Shyra Huff (Scott) and Maranda Mitchell (Stephen) and nine great grand kids.

Elaine was known as "Nanny" to most. She loved her grandchildren and was very active with them for many years. Elaine worked at Southwestern Die Casting (Baldor) from where she retired. She loved her friends, collecting frogs, breakfast at Hardees, playing Publisher's Clearinghouse, shopping, wearing holiday hats & bling/bling jewelry, and spending time with family.

Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home, Fort Smith, AR, Sunday April 30th 2pm-4pm and Service will be at Spradling Baptist Church on North 50th, Ft. Smith at 11am, Monday, May 1, 2023. Burial will be private event for family only at Macedonia Cemetery Pocola, Ok.
