David Louis Bowers, 72, was born on February 19, 1951, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, he passed away on December 6, 2023. David was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Stark Bowers, Sr. and Lois Ann Paddock, and brothers Donald Star Bowers, Jr. and John Russell Bowers.
David is survived by his wife, Jane Nelson Bowers, his son Grant Paddock Bowers, grandson Coy Bowers, sister Ann Bowers Kinder (Paul), and his nephews and nieces Dr. John Bowers (Brittany), Rosalie Bowers, Tori Schmitt (Scott), Catherine See (Donald), Jon Thorson (Kim), Marty Thorson (Tanya), and Nathaniel Thorson, his aunt Anita Paddock, many Paddock and Bowers cousins, sister-in-laws Glenda Nelson Kraus (Robert) and Staci Bowers Goodman (Dr. Cole).
David was a graduate of Southside High School, Fort Smith, class of 1969, and the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He worked in the poultry and food industry.
David cherished his many pets, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed a good sunset. He always kept his great sense of humor, no matter the situation.
A memorial graveside service will be held at Oak Cemetery on Tuesday, December 12, at 2:00 pm, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
