March 8, 2022, and is now rejoicing in Heaven with his Lord. He was born on March 16, 1931 in Fort
Smith, AR to Thomas Homer Castleberry and Frances Lane Castleberry. He was preceded in death by his
parents and loving wife of 35 years, Rebecca Castleberry.
Buddy was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a retired milkman for Acee Milk Company and a
member of Rye Hill Baptist Church. He loved to travel. He loved people, never met a stranger and his
home was welcome to all. To us, he was larger than life. He was loyal and loving to his family and
friends. He will be missed immensely.
Buddy was survived by seven children, Leacretia Swearingen (Eddie) of Fort Smith, Chuck Castleberry of
Sao Paulo, Brazil, Mike Castleberry (Kim) of Van Buren, Phoebe Perdue (Brian) of Fort Smith, Dallas
Castleberry of Fort Smith, Michelle Brandt of Fort Smith, Michael Wilson (Christina) Virginia Beach, VA;
one sister, Linda Sue Sims (Dwain) of Jonesboro, AR; fourteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren;
and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral service and celebration of his life will be 1 PM, Monday, March 14, 2022, at Edwards Funeral
Home. Burial with military honors to follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 PM to
4 PM, Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are entrusted to Edwards Funeral
Home.
Pallbearers will be Dallas Castleberry, Brian Perdue, Allen Swearingen, David Swearingen, Chance Combs and Colton Turner.
