Charles H. “Chuck” Boerner, 82 of Fort Smith passed away Friday, June 27, 2014. He was born February 1, 1932 in Paris, AR to the late Henry John and Frances Kehres Boerner. He was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the UCT, was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic School Board and the Parish Council. He coached baseball and softball for Immaculate Conception and was in the first class of the Eucharistic Ministers. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from Weldon, Williams, & Lick. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters; Mary Frances Newman, Irene Nelson, and Helen Murphy as well as his three brothers; Gene, Jim, and Fred Boerner.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM Monday, June 30, 2014 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial and military honors to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rosella of the home, two daughters; Diane Willis and her husband Bill of Ft. Smith and Karen Knight and her husband Tom of Ft. Smith, his sisters; Mildred Schneider of Lock, AR and Sally Johnston and her husband Clyde of Ft. Smith, as well as his four grandchildren, Kristyn Willis, Charles Willis, Nicole Knight and Parker Knight.
Pallbearers will be Paul Newman, Harold Boerner, Jon Boerner, Sam Nelson, Clyde Johnston, Jr., Robert Maestri, and Pat Murphy.
