Billy Ray Johnston

Billy Ray Johnston, 74, of Ozark, AR, formerly of Fort Smith, died August 2, 2017 in Ozark. He was born April 14, 1943 in Clarksville, AR to Samuel Ray and Delphia Gibson Johnston. He was retired from both Fort Smith Rim & Bow and RMB Produce and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by four daughters, Paula and husband Bobby Goulet of Ozark, AR., Michelle and Mark Atkins of Spiro, OK., Marsha and David Mason of Van Buren, AR., and Tina and husband Shannon Sturdivant of Barling; the mother of his children, Jacqueline Johnston Berkley of Barling, AR; two sisters, Barbara Lakoski of Fort Smith and Nita Waits of Muldrow, OK; two brothers, Sammy “Steve” Johnston of Muldrow, OK and Ricky Lee Johnston of Van Buren, AR; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and several sisters and brothers.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5-6:30 PM.
