Betty Ruth Coots, 77 of Fort Smith, AR passed away on October 22, 2022. Betty was born on March 22, 1945 to Alvin and Nona (Childers) Lingo in Rudy, AR. Betty grew up in the Fort Smith area and worked at Simmons bank for 49 years making her way from a teller to Vice President. Betty had a huge heart and spent her free time dedicated to giving back to the community, she worked with project compassion, Altrusa International, and many local animal rescues. Betty was a loving and caring person who will be deeply missed.
Betty is survived by her nieces Tammy young, Betty Chennault, Kristin Coots, Genia Hamby, Shawn Damron,nephews Alvin Young, Chad Sharpe,brothers Jim Coots, David Coots, sisters Ethel Sharpe, Rose Riddle, several great nieces and nephews, and her loving dogs Daisy, Sharky, Shaggs, and Bo.
Betty is preceded by her husband William coots, parents Alvin & Nona Lingo, and Sister Francis young.
Pallbearers are Bill Ramage, Dennis Wagoner, Mike Flynn, Mike Hamby, Shaun McLaughlin, and David Aaron Coots. Honorary pallbearers Simmons Employees.
