Belva Jean Roam

Belva Jean Roam, 79, of Fort Smith, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013, in Fort Smith. She was born November 2, 1933 in Fort Smith. She was a Child Care Provider for Quality Child Care. She also worked at Wal-Mart and Calico County Restaurant. She was a member of the Fort Smith Women’s Bowling Association, Fort Smith Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame, member emeritus of the Fort Smith Women’s Bowling Association and a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob L. Roam, a daughter Bobbie Jean Robertson and a brother Elza Wayne Lynn, Jr. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Freedom Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. She is survived by three daughters Viola (Sissie) Shelby of Fort Smith, Debbie Roam of Fort Smith and Carolyn Jo Roam-Goembel of Fort Smith, one son Robert Lee Roam, Jr. of Malvern, AR, two sisters Wanda Martin of Fort Smith and Patsy Richie of Muldrow, OK, one brother Carroll Lynn of Conroe, TX, six grandchildren Robbin Cantrell, Troy Robertson, Amy Shelby, Amanda Shelby, Taylor McKinney and Robert Lee Roam III, three great grandchildren Brittany Beneux-Wilcenski, Cody Hulsey and Garik Robertson and one great great grandchild Jordynn Wilcenski. Pallbearers will be Randy Bishop, Mark Goembel, Michael Shores, Troy Robertson, Taylor McKinney and Cody Hulsey. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Warren, Chad Warren, Alfred Johnson and Brian Cantrell. The family will visit with friends Friday at Edwards Funeral Home from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
