Peacefully and surrounded by her family and friends, Dianne Louise Loyer passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022 in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, at the age of 72 years, after a 6 year battle with metastatic lung cancer.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 26 years, Mike Loyer; daughter, Tracy (Jorge) Ohland Cintado; step-daughter, Jaimi Loyer; granddaughters, Robyn (Chris) Thompson, Rebecca Ohland; step-grandson, Jakob Loyer; great grandson, William Thompson; sisters, Linda (Ron) Fox, Darce (Rollie) Mercier; brother, Glen (Shelley) Dutertre; mother, Emma “Toots” Dutertre; as well as numerous other family and friends.
Dianne was predeceased by her father, Robert Dutertre; granddaughter, Randi-Lynn Ohland; son-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Ohland.
Born in Bonnyville, she lived most of her life in the Edmonton area. Moving to Ontario for work and to BC when she married Mike, both returning to Fort Saskatchewan where they enjoyed their beautiful home and acreage. Dianne loved to do many things – always keeping busy. She met and made many friends playing softball throughout her life. She loved to craft and make stained glass projects for family and friends; enjoyed yard work and home reno projects. She had a profound love for animals; caring for strays and nursing injured back to health. Dianne helped many people in many ways. She was a dedicated blood donor, giving blood 142 times before her diagnosis - an inspiration to many.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 10th, 2022 from 11:00am until 3:00pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 183 (where Dianne was a lifelong member and supporter)
