Barbara was predeceased by her parents and husband Joseph. She is survived by her son Scott (Danita) Deptuch and her grandchildren Kayne and Mya.
Barb married Joe on August 31st, 1968, at the Grace-Westminster United Church in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Their time in Alberta started in Edmonton, then Fort Saskatchewan and on to Stettler where they picked Scott up in August,1979. In 1996, the family moved to Medicine Hat. The house was sold after Joe’s passing in 2012 and Barb moved twice to be closer to family, first to Sundre, then to Fort Saskatchewan once more.
Mom cherished her family first and Elvis second. Loved painting, so much that she would teach children in our home. Adored tending the flowers in her garden. And delighted in her grandchildren, ever declaring what a ‘handsome boy’ or ‘beautiful girl’!
Honoring Barb's wishes there will be no funeral service. She will be interred in a private function to be with Joe once more.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alberta Lung Association.
‘LOVE YOU FOREVER’
by Robert Munsch
A story my mom loved. Synopsis by Scott
It is a story about a mother who sings to her son at every stage of his life.
The mother would pick him up, rock him and say:
I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be
As the son grows older, he moves away to start his own life. Until the day that the mother calls to say that he should come as she is very old and sick. She tries to sing to her son, but she is not able. The son goes to his mother, picks her up, rocks her and says:
I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my mommy you’ll be
