Anna immigrated from Germany to Norquay, Saskatchewan with her family in 1926. She married Otto Berndt in 1934 and they farmed in the Verigin area for 40 years. In 1994, she moved to Penhold, Alberta to be nearer to her family. Anna loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family and friends. She always had a special place in her heart for the children. Crocheting was her hobby and she was always making something for someone.
Anna will be missed by her children; Don of Edmonton, AB, Ben of Penhold, AB, Marcel of Kingston, ON, and Diane (Harold) of Fort Saskatchewan, AB; her sister, Emily of Sudbury, ON; her seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Otto; as well as two sisters and two brothers.
At Anna’s request, there will be no formal service. Interment will be at the Canora Cemetery in the spring. Online condolences may be sent through www.dignitymemorial .com.
