It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adam on Monday, November 18, 2024 at the age of 98 years.
Adam was born in Balcarres, Saskatchewan and grew up on a farm. He attended Violette School from 1933 - 1941. He was a member of the Tullymet Baby Beef Club for several years. He worked in Northern Ontario for 11 years driving a logging truck. He returned to Balcarres where he married Tressy Hurrell in 1954. They moved to Regina where he worked in the trucking business for 14 years. They returned to Balcarres in 1973 where he was employed at Parkland Lodge until his retirement in 1991. Adam enjoyed participating in golf and curling, he especially enjoyed watching the Blue Jays, Saskatchewan Roughriders, hockey and curling.
Adam is survived by his wife Tressy of 70 years; daughter Linda (Barry) Englot; grandson Shawn (Susan) great-grandchildren: Sidney (Sophia), Lydia and Lucas; grandson Chad (Jill); great-grandsons Nate and Kaden; grandson Kelly (Jackie); great-granddaughter Jayda; daughter Marilyn (Don) Dixon; grandson Tyler (Christine); great-grandsons Cooper, Carter, Blake and Nash; grandson Kyle (Amanda); his sister Mary Young; sister-in-law Jeannette Lucyk and brother-in-law Duncan Acton.
Adam was predeceased by his parents John and Annie; brothers: Walter, Mike, Peter, Charlie, Stan, William and Jack; sisters: Lena Krushelnicky, Mildred Acton and Rose Emery; sisters-in-law Arlene Lucyk and Rose Lucyk and brothers-in-law Ed Young and Walter Krush.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Balcarres, Saskatchewan on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Francis Hengen. Interment will follow in the Balcarres Cemetery. Lunch to follow in the Golden Age Recreation Center, 212 Main Street, Balcarres, SK. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Balcarres Golden Age Group, Box 767, Balcarres, SK S0G 0C0.
