Dolly was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and moved to Brookhaven, Mississippi at a young age. After high school, she moved to Biloxi, Mississippi, where she worked for Western Union. This is where she met her late husband, Robert who was stationed there in the Coast Guard. Later they moved to Nebraska, where Dolly worked for Sears and Roebuck. In the late 1960's they moved to Florida, where they have since resided. While Dolly remained employed with Sears, she, along with her husband, owned and operated Mr. Roberts and Roberts of Florida, a party goods and restaurant supply company. Dolly was past President of the Elkette's and her husband was Past Exalted Ruler in the Elks Lodge#1520 in Fort Pierce. Dolly exhibited strength and grace in all aspects of her life. Dolly dearly loved her family and friends. Her concern for others greatly outweighed her concerns for herself. Dolly was an amazing person and genuinely cared for those in her life.
Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Harris; and brother, George Pullen.
Survivors include Dolly's half-sister, Patsy Jackson, of Mississippi; son, Robert L. Harris Jr. (Margie), of Port St. Lucie; daughter, Lynda Vance, of Colorado; grandchildren, Trenton Harris (Carol), of Arizona, Troy Harris, of New York, Tirzah Zipperer (Craig), of Wisconsin, Autumn Goodrich (Aaron), of Colorado, Kathryn Richmond, of Colorado, Kimberly Richmond, of Colorado, and Ryan Richmond, of Colorado; step-granddaughter, Laura Strode (Jason), of Nebraska; numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce on Friday August 11, 2017 from 10-10:30 am with a Funeral Service to follow with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Fort Pierce.
Following the services, a luncheon will be held at the Elks Lodge #1520, 608 S.5th Street in Fort Pierce.
Memorial Contributions may be made to The Elk's Lodge #1520, 608 S 5th St, Fort Pierce, FL 34950 in honor of Dolly.
