Eleanor "Miss Ellie" Pennell, 89, was called to Heaven by the Lord on September 20, 2023 . Born December 14, 1933 in Titusville to Charles and Elizabeth Raulerson, Ellie was raised in a very large family. At a young age she lost her father to a WW1 injury. Her mother raised her and many of her siblings through the Great Depression. As a young woman Ellie married Oscar Bergandi. After his death, she raised their three young children. Later, she married Jack W. Pennell, Sr. Several years later, they were both a bit surprised to find they were having a baby to add to their clan of pre-teens and teens. Ellie worked at many establishments in her younger years including Higgs Drive-In, Piper, Dodger Pines Country Club, Hilltop Restaurant, Keens, Publix, etc. Later, Mr. Jack and Miss Ellie owned Miss Ellie's Child Care Center & Preschool for many years. Several years after her husband's death, the pre-school closed and Miss Ellie retired. She found retirement boring and went to work for Walmart. After quite a few years, she chose to take a second try at retirement. Prior to mobility and health issues, she loved feeding the birds and squirrels that visited her yard.
Miss Ellie is preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar Bergandi; second husband, Jack W. Pennell, Sr; son, Robert Bergandi; stepson, Jack W. Pennell, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Barbara Pennell; step-daughter Cathy Pennell Halvorsen, and a minimum of thirteen siblings. She is the last of her generation for the family.
She is survived by her three daughters, Anna Martin (Michael); Kathi Weems (Bob); Shawna Pennell; five grandchildren: Misty Lindner, Erik Richardson, Stasia Martin, Cali Bergandi, and Cara Monroe. She also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren: Marcus, Brooke, Daniella, Keaton, Vada, Austin, Tyler, and Gabrielle "Gabby." She is survived by many extended family members.
