Ruth's spiritual journey began as a child born into the fold of the Brightmore Tabernacle Pentecostal church in a suburb of Detroit. Her parents regularly took her to the church and she began to sing and worship as a member of that congregation. She attended Sunday school, sang in the choir and attended the worship services. Her love of music would be life long.
She worked her way through life in several different jobs. She gained the respect and admiration of her co-workers at each new position she held. Ruth's career was very important to her but she always made sure that family and friends came first. In her professional career she made many friends that were lifelong. She achieved many awards and was considered a fair and just supervisor at all times. She was in charge of HR a position that was perfectly suited for this level headed professional woman.
Ruth Stuart was a special person and that was obvious to anyone that ever met her. She was a soft spoken kind hearted woman with an intense love for her family and friends. She was a compassionate and thoughtful person at all times and made lifelong friends with ease. She was never quick to anger but was always the peace maker in any situation. She was a beautiful woman on the outside but the most amazing thing about Ruth was that her outer beauty was eclipsed by the beauty of her soul. When you met Ruth you would know right away that you were in the presence of kindness, honesty, intelligence, and most importantly a woman that had a strong personal relationship with God.
Ruth lived her life as best she could to serve her Lord as well as care for her loved ones. The true loves in her life were always her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She wished with all her heart to pass God's love onto each and every one of them. Right up to her last days Ruth taught Sunday school at church and her great grandchildren were right there in her class soaking up whatever she could pass onto them. Ruth made sure that all her great grandchildren knew God and Jesus Christ so that one day they too could bask in the glory of God's love for eternity as she does now. She had a burning desire to continue God's work but she could no longer go on. As her body failed and became broken, her desire to teach the children grew even more intense. She fought through pain and suffering to get well again to continue molding.
Ruth fought a very hard battle but finally succumbed to illness and passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters Debbie, Pam, Lynda and a dear friend she loved very much, Don Morris.
