Raymond J. Mehl, age 84, of Lehigh Acres passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. He was born on November 6, 1931 in Bronx, New York. He married Minnie C. Wood on May 24, 1952 in Plainfield, NJ. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. His rank was Petty Officer 2nd Class and served on the USS Wisconsin and USS Missouri.
Ray is survived by his children: Linda R. (Lamar) McDaniel, Phyllis Werner, Raymond (Carmen) Mehl and Kevin (Tencia) Mehl; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie in 2015 and his grandson, Kevin Mehl, Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Ft. Myers, FL 33913 on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 11 am.
In honor of Ray’s devotion to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, guests are welcome to wear their Bucs attire. He will be reunited with his wife of 63 years and grandson in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery. Info 239-334-4880.
