Maxine is survived by her daughter, Tami Lee McCormack; 7 grandchildren Melissa Tillis Baker, Susan Hogan, Lane Price, Mark Hogan, Kristin Green, Adam McCormack and Kate Arroyo; 10 great grandchildren plus one on the way, along with many nieces and nephews.
Maxine was predeceased by her husband, T. D. (Mac) McHan, 3 daughters Carolyn Mae Hogan, Flora Patricia (Pat) Tillis and Rita Faye Richardson, parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
She was married to the love of her life for 39 years before he passed away at the age of 59. Maxine shared the love of flying with her husband, who was a private pilot. She even took student flying lessons, as she would always say, "just in case". She was an active church member and homemaker for many years before entering the workforce. She worked as a sewing instructor for Collier County Public Schools. Later, she began working for LeHigh Community Services where she ran the Medication Assistance Program until retiring.
Coming from a family who loved to sing, Maxine was a member of Family Church in Pt. Charlotte where she sang alto in the choir. She was best known by all who knew her for her sewing, singing and cooking abilities. She even assisted the Seminole Tribe of Florida with sewing on the Immokalee Reservation. She loved spending time with her family and friends where she was the life of the party! Loved by so many she will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Maxine's name to Tidewell Hospice. Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, Ft. Myers, FL is in charge of arrangements.
