Doris Rodriguez

Doris was born in Olancho, Honduras, on November 7, 1968. At 18, she moved to Miami, Florida, searching for the American dream.

Once in Miami, Doris met and married the late Javier Rodriguez and had two beautiful daughters: Melissa and Vanessa. Her family relocated to Lehigh Acres, where Doris found a new family in The Christ United Methodist Church. She was a very devoted Christian with a strong faith in the Lord. Doris enjoyed cooking traditional Spanish recipes, sewing, gardening, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Doris was a dedicated mother, always striving to provide her daughters with the best life and opportunities. Finally, her wishes have come true as Melissa follows her dreams as a police officer and Vanessa in her second year of college.

She is survived by her daughters Melissa Mitchell, Vanessa Rodriguez and by her partner William Keese. She also leaves behind her sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Claudina Muñoz.

A visitation for Doris will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913. A graveside service will occur Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Christ United Methodist Church, 1430 Homestead Rd N, Lehigh Acres, FL 33936.
