Belta Evyvonne Edwards

Belta Evyvonne “Curly” Edwards, age 77, of Fort Myers, Florida departed this life September 2, 2017 at home in Lee County. She was born February 7,1940 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Marion Aughtman & Mildred Nancy Ray.

She retired from Tice Elementary. She served in several local Baptist Churches. She enjoyed being a part of her children’s activities.

She was married to her late husband B. Freddie Edwards for 53 years. They loved one another until death. She is survived by her daughter Debra Letcher (Tim), son Dane Edwards (Sandy), & daughter Dana Balogh (Cadd). Her siblings: Sara Patterson (Grover), Leonard Ray, Ruth Wynn (Rudell), Faye Smith (James), Betty Beauchamp (Dick), Earl Ray, Bonnie Geisler (Jim), Joyce McVoy (Joe), Jimmie Sue Sullivan. She had 10 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren. She had many nieces & nephews whom she loved. She devoted her life to her family & enjoyed them.

She will be buried with her husband at Alva Cemetery. Service will be held at Alva United Methodist Church, Pearl Street, Alva, Florida on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her name to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Cir, Fort Myers, FL 33908. The legacy of her love & devotion will live forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
