It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Ahmad Farouk Azam, aged 86, one of the founding members of the Islamic Center of Southwest Florida. He departed this life on January 1, 2025, in the evening at his residence in Cape Coral. Dr. Azam has been an integral part of our community from its inception, contributing immensely to its growth and prosperity.
His pioneering spirit within the Bangladeshi community inspired countless lives, breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations. We remember him not only as a skilled trauma surgeon but also as a loving human being, a mentor, and a beacon of hope. His wisdom and compassion continue to guide us, reminding us to cherish every moment and serve others with the same passion he embodied.
Dr. Azam is survived by his beloved wife, Roxanna, and his cherished children: Tania, Abid, Anita, and Asif. He is also remembered by Tania’s husband, Ed; Asif’s wife, Samina; and their daughter, Ara. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.
May Allah (SWT) grant his family strength and resilience during this difficult time, and may He grant Dr. Azam the highest place in Jannah. Ameen.
Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
