Janie Casoria recently passed June 9, 2019 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was born October 6, 1946 in Boston Massachusetts and was the beloved wife of Simon M. “Cy” Casoria III, who met and fell instantly in love. They shared 47 wonderful years together.
Janie had many passions in life, first and foremost was spending time with family and friends. She volunteered in so many ways all over South Florida. As a renowned artist, numerous art murals and sculptures can be seen throughout the tri-county area. Most recently, Janie with partner Nadine Floyd, created the vast and heart-felt military tribute presentation at the Veteran’s Administration. The countless hours Janie devoted to the homeless, veterans, Salvation Army, United Way and many other charities and children’s hospitals is what she loved to do. She had a heart for those who were hurting or in need and always offered a word of encouragement or a helping hand. Janie was loved by many she knew and loved by my many more that she never even met. Her love for humanity, positive outlook and bubbly personality, touched many lives; she will be sorely missed.
Janie is survived by her husband Simon “Cy” Casoria and her three beloved children, Darrell Casoria, Simon Casoria and Tony Casoria, all from Fort Lauderdale. Additionally she leaves behind her sister - in - law, Pat Garretson and 4 nieces: Kristen White, Megann Schooley, Ryan Hallett, and Erin Dillon. She is also survived by her four cherished grandchildren: Jake, Joey, Jack and Cameron. She is now painting in heaven with her son Mike, who passed last year.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of life to be held in Janie’s honor on Friday, June 28, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church Ft. Lauderdale, 401 SE 15th Avenue off Las Olas.
