Jacques Bredy

Jacques was born on May 29, 1933, in Port Au Prince, Haiti to Adrienne and Erilas Bredy. He migrated to New York in 1970 to start “anew”…to live the American dream that everyone talked about. He lived in Brooklyn, New York for many years, and worked as a mechanic where he established a large clientele of respectable individuals. He was an active member of his community and offered a helping hand to anyone in need. He established a lot of friendships through his love of the game of dominos. In his later years, he decided to move down to Florida to escape the cold and to be closer to his siblings and additional family members.

He was the happiest when he was spending time with his family. He was a dedicated father, loving brother, and beloved uncle. He contributed in many ways whether it was a talk, a recommendation, consultation, or just even providing the best medicine he could offer; a hug. He always made sure that you knew that you mattered and was loved! He had an amazing warm smile, and always had a positive disposition no matter what was going on in his life down to his very last breath. He was an extreme jokester, and he loved to tease all of his loved ones. One of his nicknames was the “Mayor” because he was mister popularity and everyone loved to be in his presence because of his welcoming and gentle spirit. He loved to create lasting memories with everyone and he will be eternally remembered for his loving nature.

He is survived by his son: Roc Bredy, his brother: Fritz Bredy(Mickael), and his sisters: Jacqueline B. Merisca(Jean) and Mafalda M. Bredy, his nieces: Stephanie Merisca, Valentine Jean-Baptiste, Karline Bucknor, Eileen Baker, Tania Bredy, and his nephews: Fitzgerald Bredy, Gregory Merisca, Marvin Baker and other sorrowing relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be performed at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home on 2401 Davie Rd, Davie, Florida 33317 on Sunday, August 28th at 10:00 a.m.
